Is there a prescribed content and sequence for the General Intercessions (Prayer of the Faithful) at Mass?

According to the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (70), the content and order for the Prayer of the Faithful should generally be for:

the Church and its needs;

the world’s salvation and/or those with public authority;

those in any kind of need or difficulty;

local needs of the community.

The exceptions are special celebrations such as marriages, funerals, and the like.

No specific number of intercessions is specified.
